Q:

What Is Acne?

A:

Acne is most often an inherited condition that can be
cleared with the right products, education, and professional treatments. Normal
pores shed about one layer of dead skin cells per day inside the pore. Acneic pores
may shed up to five layers of dead skin cells per day.  This excessive dead cell debris creates
congestion and inflammation. Hormones, diet and lifestyle also play a role in
acne.  Congested pores form the beginning
phase of acne, called the microcomedone.  This microcomedone eventually turns into
blackheads or congestion under the skin; or, if bacteria is present (which just
loves to feed on the dead skin cells and oil), it turns into inflamed pimples
or pustules and maybe even cysts.

Q:

What Should I Expect During My Consultation and First Acne Treatment?

A:

1st Treatment:  After a thorough
skin analysis, active professional products will be tested for strength and
tolerance. A “before” photo will be taken to mark progress of clearing during
your 12 week program. The first acne treatment will include a double cleanse,
steam, an enzyme treatment and thorough extractions will be performed.  Each treatment will be spaced 2-3 weeks apart
to best clear the skin.

Q:

How Long Does It Take To Get Clear Skin?

A:

*Once you are clear and have completed the 12 Week Acne
Program, a maintenance treatment is suggested every four, six or eight
weeks, depending on your skin type.

Q:

How Often Should I Come In For Acne Treatment?

A:

To clear the quickest, I
recommend coming in for acne treatment every two-three weeks during the
first few months. The purpose of each treatment is to accelerate
exfoliation, extract acne comedones and pustules as they surface, hydrate the
skin and assess your home care routine.

Q:

Why Do You Adjust Home Care Routine Every Two Weeks?

A:

It is important to check in every two-three weeks to
see if we can make your regimen a bit stronger. We do not want your skin to get
used to products, but also not make the regimen so strong that your skin gets
dry and irritated. This approach will help your skin clear steadily. It’s
important to know that if adjustments are not made, your skin clearing process
may stall. If you are being treated
virtually, the overall clearing process may be slower without professional
treatments but clear skin is still possible.

Q:

What Will It Cost For Treatments And Products?

A:

The initial treatment and consultation is $140 (does not
include cost of products). During this first meeting, you will get a packet of
valuable information and tips about getting clear, along with a customized
treatment plan.  After the initial visit, each acne treatment is $85 while
in the Acne Program

Q:

What Is The Key To Clear Skin?

A:

Commitment is key to staying on track. Use only the
acne-safe products purchased during your acne program.  Be consistent with your morning and evening
routine.  Do not pick your acne breakouts.  Avoid excessive sun exposure and avoid
problematic foods discussed during your consultation. Getting regular
professional acne treatments with extractions is valuable to your clearing process.
As your acne mentor, I am always available to answer questions, help guide you and
keep you on track.

Q:

What makes your 12 Week Acne Program Successful?

A:

I offer a range of products in different strengths that can be customized to treat your specific type of acne and severity (it’s not a one-size-fits-all approach).

You have a personal acne mentor! I will coach you through your specific skin problems, lifestyle and concerns.

I will adjust your home-care routine every few weeks to “guide” your skin to clear faster. (This takes monitoring so that skin doesn’t get too dry or irritated).

The different products each serve a purpose in clearing the skin. Together, all the products used will address all aspects of getting your skin clear. Some products may help combat bacteria while particular serums will help with scarring and redness.

I personally suffer with acne and manage my acne prone skin successfully with this proven method. I have been in your shoes. I have tried medications, felt hopeless and I know what you’re going through. Clearing your skin and seeing your confidence shine is my passion!

Q:

Why should I only use your professional products during the program?

A:

There are so many acne products available online or in
drugstores.  You may have even tried to make
homemade products with hopes to clear your skin with a holistic approach. It
comes down to quality, efficacy and pore clogging ingredients (did you know
that coconut oil is a major pore clogger)? The products I recommend and use in
the treatment room are specifically formulated for acne prone skin, guaranteed
not to clog pores and proven to clear skin. The products contain pharmaceutical
grade ingredients that clear current acne and prevent congestion and build up.

Q:

Did you know acne is the #1 reason people see a dermatologist?

A:

Unfortunately, it’s a growing trend for physicians to
prescribe antibiotics or Accutane to patients without providing alternative
options or addressing the root causes of acne. With so many different variables
associated with breakouts, prescribed meds often only work for a short time on
some inflamed acne types.  This approach
only deals with the bacteria associated with acne, not the main issue of clogged
pores, lifestyle or diet. Therefore, once you stop taking the medication, your
acne will most likely come back. It is also not safe to take antibiotics
long-term.

Q:

Why is Accutane dangerous?

A:

Accutane (Isotretinoin) is a prescribed medication to treat severe, difficult to control acne. Common side effects can include dry skin, chapped lips, vision issues, liver toxicity and joint pain. The more serious, severe side effects of isotretinoin include birth defects, mental health problems, and stomach issues. Accutane is a very powerful drug with dangerous side effects that can last long after you have stopped taking the drug. If you are considering going on Accutane, do your research and educate yourself. There are other options available without any harmful side effects. My 12 week acne program has over a 90% success rate in clearing skin without the use of medication.
*Please note-If you have been on Accutane in the past, please stop using Accutane for a minimum of 6 months before seeking help with my acne program.
